Just hours after the escape, three fugitives have been captured. A man named Kenny Jeff Adrien was captured in the streets of Port-Louis. Westley Fabrice and Mootou Etienette Kinsley, could not leave the boundaries of the prison. Many of the 16 warden who were on duty yesterday, were injured and had to receive hospital care. Some were attacked with knives. Among the fugitives there is a well known by the name of Steeve Daniel Monvoisin who was implicated in a bloody hold-up at the Mauritius Commercial Bank in which a booty of Rs 51.8 million had been carried away and the Customer Service Supervisor of the bank was murdered.

Robust operations to capture the escapees. This vast police operation mobilizes all sectors of the CID of the country including the strength of the Special Mobile Force (SMF), the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), Groupement Intervention Police Mauritius (GIPME) and other units of the police force. The operation is under the supervision of the CPA Vuddamalay the Central CID. The fugitives are considered Habitual Criminals (HC). Immediately after the alert, Police Central Stations have mobilized the manpower to launch a major operation with the logistical support of the DHRUV helicopter.
